Problem
Humber Arboretum, a natural outdoor space used for learning, walking, and community activities. Visitors often feel confused when navigating the space due to limited and inconsistent signage. Information like directions and locations was not always clear.
Strategy
I focused on creating a simple and clear signage system that is easy to understand at a glance. The design needed to work well in an outdoor environment and be readable from a distance.
Process
I started by studying the site and identifying key locations where signs are needed, such as entrances and trails. I explored different layouts, icons, and typography to improve readability. I also tested size, spacing, and placement to make sure the signs are visible and easy to follow.
Impact
The final signage system makes navigation easier and improves the overall visitor experience. It helps people feel more confident moving through the space and increases awareness of safety information. This project helped me understand how design works in real environments and how clarity is important in wayfinding systems.
